Small and compatible, MP3 is best for previews and everyday playback.

WAV

WAV is larger but better for editing, mastering and preservation.

MP4

MP4 keeps the visual version of a song for personal archives or video workflows. File sizes can be considerably larger than audio-only downloads.

Artwork and lyrics

Artwork identifies a release, while lyrics preserve the text and structure. Keep both with the audio to build a complete archive.
